Energy and Environmental Policy

For the company of SCHEUERMANN + HEILIG, conserving and protecting our working and living conditions are just as important as our other major goals.

  • Our company’s management takes responsibility for environmental protection, occupational safety, employee health and conscientious use of energy. It defines relevant policies and actively works to support compliance with them and their further development. All employees are expected to act responsibly on the basis of clearly defined roles and expectations. Our management regards information, instructions, training and our coworkers’ direct involvement as vital prerequisites for ensuring workplace safety, employee health and environmental protection. The resources required for this are provided.
  • Energy and raw and auxiliary materials are responsibly purchased and used. Projects and other measures are implemented for continually improving occupational safety, safeguarding health and protecting the environment.
  • Each year, SCHEUERMANN + HEILIG defines workplace safety and health protection goals along with all of the other objectives and programs that are needed for protecting the environment and saving energy.
  • The strategic energy goals of SCHEUERMANN + HEILIG are to continually improve its energy performance indicator and increase the use of renewably generated energy as far as is economically justified. Internal and external environmental, workplace safety, health protection and energy management systems are regularly audited, in addition to periodically carrying out inspection tours, measurements and analyses of the systems in place. Management does this to check the effectiveness of its environmental, workplace safety, health protection and energy policies and the associated measures, and to verify that legal requirements and customers’ needs are met.
  • Officers responsible for environmental protection, workplace safety, health protection and energy management prepare contingency plans for the corresponding activities and processes. This may be done in cooperation with accident insurance organizations, government authorities, local administrations, power utilities and institutions. Organizational and technical measures are implemented as required to prevent accidents from causing the release of substances or energy and to avoid work-related accidents, occupational diseases and workplace hazards.
  • SCHEUERMANN + HEILIG incorporates suppliers and service providers into its activities to improve workplace safety, employee health and environmental protection.
  • In connection with workplace safety, employee health and environmental protection, SCHEUERMANN + HEILIG collaborates with accident insurers, government agencies, local administrations, power utilities and the public in a spirit of openness and mutual trust. Information needed to understand workplace safety, employee health and environmental protection measures and their effects in the company is available. Environmental protection is very heavily influenced by governmental and official specifications and monitoring. The laws, ordinances and regulations applicable to SCHEUERMANN + HEILIG have been identified within the scope of environmental management audits and recorded in a directory. The environmental and energy management officers are tasked with checking and updating this overview of legal requirements when required.
